Welcome to St. Joseph
I am Fr. Stan Mader, pastor of St. Joseph. Among the many things I would like to tell you about St. Joseph are the beautiful church, the reverent but warm liturgies, and the congregation representative of the community – young and old, eager, searching, questioning. Read about the range of services available, and then come to know the people who make up this Church. Browse the school pages, note the excellence of the education, and the amazing Smart Lab, and then come and experience the dedication and prayerfulness of the teachers, and the character of the students. See the Sacraments pages, and then come to experience the encounter with Christ they bring. Learn about the pre-school which will return to our auspices in the summer of 2025. Read about the wide range of educational programs for people of all ages, then join a small group and make friends for life, and see your children come to know the faith you want to pass on. Explore the outreach ministries, and then come join us in feeding the poor, clothing the naked, and supporting the sick and imprisoned, and know that you are reaching out to Jesus when you do participate in this ministry.
St. Joseph Catholic Community goes back to the early days of the state, forming in 1859, within a year of the establishment of the State of Minnesota. The school opened in 1860, before the Civil War. We are in our 165 consecutive year of educating students. We have always been a downtown church committed to this community. We hope to make the city better on Monday by carrying out what we experience on Sunday.
Enjoy our website. Let us know what we can do better with it. Feel free to contact us, and please join us. We hope to offer community with a purpose and authenticity. We want to be a place where we can help you put into effect what you want to do for Christ. We are in this together.
Looking forward to seeing you in person.
