What is The Sacrament of
Holy Orders?
The Sacrament of Holy Orders is a unique and sacred calling for men who feel drawn to serve the Church as priests or deacons. Through this sacrament, men are ordained to continue Christ’s mission in a profound way, proclaiming the Gospel, administering the sacraments, and guiding the faithful.
Priesthood
Priests are called to a life of service, leading the faithful in prayer, celebrating the Eucharist, and bringing God’s Word to the community. If you are a single man of any age and feel called to explore the priesthood, we invite you to take the first step:

Diaconate
Deacons serve the Church in a special way, assisting at Mass, proclaiming the Gospel, and performing acts of charity and service. Married and single men who feel called to this ministry are encouraged to take the next step:

REligious Life

Lay Ministry
Lay ministry is a vital part of the Church’s mission, encompassing roles such as Christian education, youth ministry, and parish administration. Men and women interested in pursuing lay ministry can access training and support through the Archdiocese.

How You Can Support Vocations
As a parish community, we all share the responsibility to foster and encourage vocations. Here are some ways you can help:
Pray for Vocations
Include vocations to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, and lay ministry in your daily prayers.
Encourage Others
If you see someone who exhibits the qualities of a good priest, deacon, or religious, encourage them to explore their vocation.
Educate Yourself and Others
Learn more about the different vocations in the Church and share that knowledge with others.
Participate in Parish Activities
Attend events or initiatives that promote vocations, such as Holy Hours, discernment retreats, or vocation fairs.
