We believe that Jesus is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. We receive Jesus in the Eucharist at Mass. St. Joseph Catholic Community invites families with children in second grade and older to prepare for the reception of First Holy Eucharist by attending weekly Mass and fully participating in Faith Formation classes and events.
Your child is required to receive First Reconciliation before receiving First Holy Eucharist.
Final preparation for the Sacrament begins with a parent meeting in January. Home study and classroom attendance support the parents and children in preparation for this important sacrament. Families are asked to attend a retreat in April to participate in learning and sharing activities before the reception of First Eucharist. Rehearsals are scheduled the Friday before the reception of the sacrament.
